Ben Nevis - 05-06-2010

 BEN NEVIS

On Saturday 5^th June Scout Leaders Gary Patterson and Mark Furmage along with Young Leader/Explorer Scout Gavin Holt and 5 parents from 2nd Coatbridge Scout group completed their climb to the summit of Ben Nevis, 4418ft high.

It was a full day adventure, leaving the scout hall at 6.30am and returning at 9.30pm. The group spent a fantastic day at Ben Nevis and everyone managed to make the climb. Scout Leader Gary Patterson said "It was tough to be honest, but an incredible experience and we had some unbelievable views at the peak. As like in most camps and events we seem to arrange we were blessed with some fantastic weather".

Every child in the group was issued with a sponsorship form and asked to raise as much money as they could. The group hope to raise in excess of £1000 for their trip to Kandersteg this summer.
