Work With Us

Recently at Calder District Scouts we have been networking and forming links with "like-minded" organisations who we think may have something to offer our members in the form of advice, training or unique opportunities which will encourage personal development.

We hope that over time these relationships will grow and as a result also allow people from other walks of life the chance to see what goes on in Scouting and how they can become involved.

The Outward Bound Trust

"We are all better than we know. If only we can be brought to realise this, we may never be prepared to settle for anything less." KURT HAHN, Co-founder of The Outward Bound Trust

Probably one of the most widely recognised educational charities in the world, The Outward Bound Trust in the UK works mainly with young people aged 11 to 24 from a wide variety of backgrounds providing them with the opportunity to personally develop through challenge and adventure in the outdoors.

Smaller Earth

This organisation provides young people from all around the globe the opportunity to undertake potentially life changing experiences through working, volunteering and travelling abroad. These experiences not only have a positive impact on others, but also provide the participant with the tools required to evaluate and reflect on what they have experienced and learnt in a positive way.

Camp Leaders

Many of you may have heard of this somewhat "unique" American tradition where by 10 million children attend "camp" during their summer holidays. Summer camp provides a safe and fun environment where children can learn, grow, develop, make new friends and undertake a variety of new activates and experiences. Working at summer camp will, without a doubt, be the most rewarding, challenging and unforgettable experiences you will ever have.

This is an excellent opportunity for Network Scouts or Young Leaders!
